Stone Curators was born out of the feeling that finding the right stone is an art—a skill, a talent—that combines the eye of a designer with the touch of a craftsman, along with an analytical approach.
We are stone guys. We love the hunt—discovering an abandoned stone building to disassemble and give a fresh start, finding an old quarry waiting to have its remnants repurposed, or uncovering beautiful stone from a hidden, unnoticed quarry in a distant land. We love this. It’s our passion—finding stone we can bring to life and to your project.

WORK
We are happy to provide a quote for any work you require. We can source and purchase local Cotswold stone from a nearby quarry and tailor our work to your needs. All our work is completed at a high standard and I try to work within the time frame as per your requirement. Our price is competitive and fair. We travel to any region of India and mostly Gujarat, Maharashtra, Karnataka and Rajasthan.

Mr. VIJAY CHAVHAN
Vijay Chavan, 48, has dedicated his entire life to stone masonry — an ancestral craft that runs deep in his bloodline. Introduced to stonework by his grandfather Gambhirnath Chavan in 1987, Vijay ji carries forward a family tradition that has withstood the test of time.
His grandfather, Gambhirnath Chavan, was once a royal-era contractor, entrusted with palaces and forts whose walls still stand today — a living testimony to the craftsmanship of a forgotten age. He even worked with the British East India Company, restoring forts, houses, and walls across regions. Later, the baton passed to his son Gopinath Chavan, and eventually to Vijay Chavan, who has kept the legacy alive with unmatched dedication.
While working with top landscaping and construction companies across the southern and western belts of India, Vijay ji mastered multiple techniques and developed an unmatched eye for detail. His belief is simple yet profound:
"True beauty lies in what two hands can shape from raw stone."
In 1996, Vijay ji undertook major projects — from bungalows and elevations to large-scale retaining walls — across Lonavala, Ahmednagar, and Pune, further expanding his experience.
But 2011 marked a major milestone. Seeking deeper knowledge, he traveled to Karnataka, working on stone walls in Hubli and later in Mumbai. Returning to Pune, he took on Ashlar and traditional masonry contracts, which eventually opened the gates to Gujarat.
In 2016, his breakthrough came — the Rosia Adventure & Resort project in Songadh, Gujarat. This 18-month-long engagement involved random masonry, elevations, benches, stairs, and full-scale stone structures. His fine work soon gained recognition, expanding his reach to Navsari, Junagadh, Vapi, Jamnagar, Daman, and Songadh.
Today, Vijay Chavan is a master of his craft — capable of executing any form of stonework, from traditional fort-style designs to modern architectural expressions. His experience has laid the foundation for Stone Masonry India — a for-profit company with a mission to preserve and promote the timeless art of stone architecture.

Ajay Chavhan is the third-generation visionary behind Stone Masonry India. With a deep-rooted passion for architectural stonework and a sharp business acumen, he has been instrumental in transforming the family’s traditional masonry heritage into a modern, structured enterprise.
Having grown up observing the intricacies of stone craftsmanship from a young age, Ajay carries forward not only the skills but also the values of discipline, precision, and integrity passed down through generations. In 2016, he formally initiated the platform Stone Masonry India with the aim of expanding the business reach, creating job opportunities for skilled artisans, and preserving the dying art of hand-carved masonry.
Under his leadership, the company has successfully executed a wide range of high-impact projects across Gujarat and Maharashtra — from resorts, farmhouses, and government parks to industrial projects and private estates.
Ajay believes in blending tradition with innovation. His approach combines natural aesthetics with modern engineering, ensuring that every project reflects both timeless beauty and long-lasting strength.
He is committed to making Stone Masonry India a national brand known for quality, trust, and craftsmanship.
